How did you install that?
Which file did you start with?
It's installed successfully with me without a problem. Let's try by following these steps:

1.
Copy all the files from the folder "Zeos Lib\Packages\delphi14\build" to the paraent folder "Zeos Lib\Packages\delphi14"
2.
From Delphi Menu - File -> Open -> locate "ZeosDbo.groupproj" -> Open
3.
From the Project manager -> Right Click -> Compile then Install

Then feed me back please.

ZeosDbo.groupproj  --> no install option
   compile is OK  (see image 2)

The ZdesignComponent  -> get  error at Install
    compile is OK  (see image 3) (should do install here acc. to ZEOS install manual )

Install error  (see image 1)

Let's try it this way, please confirm each step:

1. File -> Open -> "ZeosDbo.groupproj":

 Step 1

2. Compile each of the following:
             ZCore140.bpl
             ZPlain140.bpl
             ZParseSql140.bpl
             ZDbc140.bpl
             ZComponent140.bpl
             ZComponentDesign140.bpl

 Step 2

3. Copy all the files from "...\Zeos Lib\packages\delphi14\build" to "...\Zeos Lib\packages\delphi14".

4. Right click on ZComponentDesign140.bpl and select Install.

 Step 4

I already tried exactly your proposed solution .
compile and build is OK  but I failed with the Install  -
I copied all the ZEOS stuff to a different folder ....  src, package,  build, and I added these path's to the compiler setting

the compiler claims that he can not access a File (see image above)  , but the file has been there  ....    :-(

Are we talking about same Zeos version/release here?
This is what am using:
http://www.delphi-zone.com/wp-content/uploads/downloads/2010/04/zeos-7-delphi2010.zip

>   "I copied all the ZEOS stuff to a different folder"
Not all Zeos stuff, you just need to copy all the contents of the folder "build" that you find inside the folder "delphi14", and you copy them to be with the other files "ZCore140.bpl", "ZPlain140.bpl", "ZParseSql140.bpl", "ZDbc140.bpl", "ZComponent140.bpl", "ZComponentDesign140.bpl"

To ensure you are not copying the wrong files/folders, I have attached batch file (rename it to .bat) which does the copy as I suggested. Place it in the folder build, which is in the path "...\zeos-7-delphi2010\Zeos Lib\packages\delphi14\build", then double click on it, when at step 3 as per my previous post.

this now worked for me also :

----------------------------------------

" ......
Then, through the Project Explorer, go to the dependencies (requires) of the ZComponentDesign140.bpl and remove all, leaving only the "dbrtl.dcp" and "designide.dcp. Then, Build, Compile and Install ...
   ......."
