Hi, SP Experts,

I am woking on a basic document library in default setting, which Advanced Settings > Opening browser-enabled documents > Open in the client application.

When an excel document is uploaded, everyone except one person is able to click and open it with Excel client application. The person instead will open it using Excel service by default when clicking it - What would be reason of such behavior? More strange thing is there is no problem for her to open an Excel file in other document library with the same setting?!!

Any ideas? Thanks,
-Rick

This is believed to be a bug relating to permission.

And did you find a solution for this? I have the same problem. Different users have have the same permissions (contribute & manage heirarchy). I can log in as one user and download the spreadsheet fine. I log in as another user and it gives me the excel web services error.
