Have data with customer number, item number, effective date, and price.
Need to get only records with most current effective date.
Effective date is displaying as 20080101.

You can group by customer number then item number
Sort by date descending and the first record would be the most recent

You could choose the Top 1 or just show it in the group header and suppress details.
