SQL Server Fast Backup and Restore ?

Hello Gurus,
I am testing an ERP solution that has the a SQL Server 2008 DB.

I would like to backup the database run some tests and restore...do this
forth and back operations....
But I am not very familiar with SQL 2008 .

Can someone point me to a simple tutorial how to backup & restore  a SQL DB ?
