DNS SERVER Service "stopping"

Hi ,

The DNS server service on our DC has stuck on Stopping even after restarting server. Can anyone sugget what the problem might be. I have tried to kill the service using "taskkill" to no avail, also the Background intelligence service won't start...

Ok will try that now . What Patch did you apply after ?
"Microsoft Exchange Store"  and  "Microsoft Service Host" also stuck on "Stopping" although they were stuck on Starting until i did a kill of all exchange services and now they're stopping....so the 3 services are

"Microsoft Exchange Store"  
"Microsoft Service Host"
"DNS Server"

Thanks for reply Muzar but Tried this already and it says service "terminated" in CMD but the service is still stopping in Services.msc (after refresh)....so can't kill these services....
change the service startup mode to manual --> restart the server and then start the service manully and check
What errors are you seeing in your Event Logs? Could be part of another issue.
did u check the AV services...

Faulty Port - None of the above solved this as it was a hardware issue
