Dear Experts,

I am getting error in my IE8 while opening CBT Nuggets.

"an add-on for this website failed to run. Check the security settings in internet options for potential conflicts"

Kindly suggest me some remedial steps so that I can learn those tutorials.

If you have the ability to change the Security setting in IE, go to the Internet Options and the Security tab and adjust the Internet zone settings lower.  NOTE that this potentially leaves your computer more vulnerable.

Also, check when you get this message to make sure that there isn't a prompt at the top in the bar area wanting you to install some control or other add-on.

Alternatively, check with the vendor to make sure their product is compatible with IE8.. found one the other day that wasn't, and check their troubleshooting page to see if they have suggestions about fixing this issue.

If you're getting the same issue with IE6, it could very well be browser settings. But if you also get it with Mozilla, then maybe not. Mozilla has it's own settings not dependent on what's set in Windows or IE.

Are you saying that the videos play OK on another system?

If so, then it's more likely a system config of some kind. It could still be browser settings, but you could compare the settings on the second PC with yours.

I'd still consider contacting the vendor to see if they have suggested browser or system settings for their videos.  You cold also have an outdated "player" on your PC.  I've seen instances where PDF files won't open in a browser if the acrobat reader is too old. Perhaps the same thing is happening with whatever player this video uses.
