replaced MB of Pavilion DV6000

replaced MB of Pavilion DV6000 , however it doesn't boot up , it just powers on & after a couple minutes shutsdown, reason for changing MB previous was blown out, any idea why this occurs  ?could it be that the cpu also needs to be replaced?

yes could be CPU.

also test power supply.

check jumpers on board make sure CMOS or BIOS jumper is not set to "reset".
