Error Message while trying to link Excel Sheet to Db Table in Crystal

I have successfully connected Excel Spreadsheets to Crystal Report in the past.  This one, for some reason unknown to me, keeps giving me an error I have never seen before.  First it says "Failed to retrieve date from the database" then it says "Database Connector Error: 'DAO Error Code: 0xc5b, source: DAO.Database , Description:  The field is too small to accept the amount of data you attempted to add.  Try inserting or pasting less data.

I am trying to insert one field from the spreadsheet and find any related records in a corresponding table.  The link between the tables was not a problem.  Inserting the primary key field from the spreadsheet is not an issue.  But when I try to group by the primary key I get the error listed above.

Anyone ever have this happen and figure out why?

long shot, but have you tried Verifying the database connection? It makes it sound like there is a field in the Excel file that contains more characters than Crystal is expecting for that column.

That may have been it.  When I retried it this morning - it worked!!!  Thank you.
