Hi.  I have a cisco 2948G-GE-TX that I want to enable http in order to get it to work with cisco network assistant.  Can anyone send me the cat4000-cv.8-4-1-glx.bin file in order to update it with webview?  I have the K version which allows ssh but not webview.

Thanks

Is would be a voilation of Cisco terms and is considered pirating software; which I also believes is against the terms of EE as well. You need to pay for the license of the software.

i don't think it's pirating since it's not really an app that i need, but a firmware upgrade on a cisco item that i already own.  since the item is EOL, and my membership at cisco has expired, i cannot upgrade it via the conventional way.  if the product was not eol, then i'm sure i would be able to download the firmware upgrade from their website.

or am i wrong on this?

any image from Cisco you need to be licensed for, meaning you need to purchase that image to use on the device that you own. Asking for an image (operating system) that is licensed to someone else is pirating.

Customers license the right to use Cisco intellectual property (software) from Cisco. When you purchase hardware, you also purchase the software and the license to use it. Hardware arrives with licensed software. When you need a different feature set, you need to purchase the license for it. Upgrade features may be licensed separately, and special Cisco IOS features are licensed separately, either on a flat usage or per-seat basis, depending on the features.

You are wrong on this, sorry to be so direct, but it is no different downloading or sharing Windows 3.11 from the Internet even tho it is EOL, it is still illegal.
