getting div to expand for content

Hi,

I have a simple div that has content inside of it but for some reason it does not seem to be expanding to accommodate its content, what's going on here? its the central div here:http://94.193.107.131/byr/

also I would like to float the whole page in the middle, whats the best way to do this, I've tried wrapping it up in a div like the footer but it has no effect?

Ok,

all fixed now, it was not expanding to the bottom becouse of the footer, and sorted the floating too....
