Hello

i have a server running sbs 2003 and a database software that used to work but now crashes whenever it tries to start up.  i do get a windows error report with the option to send to microsoft.  i have done this but is there any way to follow up this issue with microsoft to try and find out what is causing the softwarre to crash?

I have tried everything i can from rolling back to older backups and checking components on the server but cannot seem to find the cause of the crash.  i have moved the software to other computers where it is running fine and although i have found a temporary solution by running the database on another computer on the network i would like to get it running on the server again.

i hope that this error file and would appreciate any advice on what i should do with it as I am sure I should follow it up some how.

Hi:

what is the source of the DB software?  If it is a commercial program, or is supported in any way, your best bet is the author or support channel of the software.

If you can give us more information about the nature of the program, the kind of database it uses, and the error or crash messages you get ,and anything from the event logs or the program logs that seems useful we can attempt to be of more help.

You can always open a support case with MS.  They will charge you unless it can be shown that it was a windows update that brought on the issue.
