Hi, I am preparing a web server PC.  This PC is windows 2008 R2 and IIS 7.5.  When I tried to install the Sql express 2005 with Adv feature, I got warning message that asp.net is not present.  I want to make sure that the SSRS installed as well so that warning message has to go away.  Is there something I need to do /configure with IIS?  If not then what do I need to do so that it can detect the IIS presence?  Thank you,.

Make sure you go into the IIS install checklist in ADD REMOVE Windows components and check Mark ASP and also install the ASP.net 3.0 runtime.

Are you sure you have installed .net framework 2.0 or later on your system? If yes, try reinstalling it and then go for SQL Server re-installation.

Please see the attached file sceen shot of the programs installed which includes .net framework 3.5.  I do not see what rr is ref to as "go into the IIS install checklist in ADD REMOVE Windows components and check Mark ASP and also install the ASP.net 3.0 runtime."
Another attached file is screen shot of my IIS which show ASP.net client.  So how can I fix this?
RR, why would I want to run the aspnet_regiis?  I have iis 7.5 installed already.  Shouldn't that do it already?  Thanks.

Step 1: Remove all SQL Server intallations from your machine.
            This includes SQLEXPRESS.
Step 2: Remove all .NET and Visual Studio Installations
Step 3: Install SSRS complete using SQL Server - not SQLEXPRESS.
Step 4. Install .NET

You should be clean.

Thank you Kent.  That link is very helpful.  However, I am just "tryting" to install the SEE.  What do I need to do to have the "Asp.net version register with IIS?"  Thank you.

Have you installed the ASP.NET framework?  Normally this registers ASP.NET fine, but if not, navigate to the /bin folder in the framework folders in a command line window and run:
ASPNET_REGIIS.EXE -i
