Apple iPhone Calendar and iCal slow to replicate - Snow Leopard Server

Can someone tell me a way to make my syncing on our Mac Server quicker. We have ical and mail on the server and push notification. Do we need the push notification server running?

have you try this? :
- selecting the "do not sync events older then XX days". so that it won't sync old events
- reset the iSync history
- if you have more than 5 calendars, consider to make it fewer

you are not alone:
