Hi Experts, is there any way of embedding a video into PowerPoint without having to have the PowerPoint and the video always being together i.e. if we send it to someone. I have tried converting the video to SWF and inserting a Shockwave control but it still wont play if the video is not in the same directory.

It's only possible to embed a video in version 2010 from the GUI and it will ONLY play in that version or in 2007 with Service Pack 2. It is possible (but pretty difficult) to embed in 2007 SP2 as well but the same limitations for play will be true. Some people have said that using an embedded Windows Media Player object works to embed the video but it doesn't for me.
