Is there a way for an Office 2003 user open a 2007 document in WSS (3)?   He already has 2007 compatibility package installed on his laptop.  The conversion process only works on explorer view.  Thx!

Hi, if the 2007 document contains some of the features available only in 2007, no, there is no way to see it properly in 2003, even with compatibility package installed.

As workaround, I used to save the 2007 documents as "97-2003" documents. When I did this, I was warned imediatelly if file has elements that would not work in previous versions. (this was my method of testing)

hope this gives you a hint.
