How to see videos from oracle database into sharepoint site

I have business requirement of displaying videos stored in oracle database and play them in sharepoint website.

I have 2  thoughts in my mind:
1.create a "file stream" in sql server 2008, and migrate all video files there and using business data connectivity, play those videos in video webpart.

2.directly connect those videos from oracle db to sharepoint via "business connectivity services" (BCS) of sharepoint.

But I don't know how to play those videos in video webpart(if used BCS in either case).

Any suggestions welcomed.

Hi ashilo,

thanks for your post, its very helpful and informative.

But my client does have huge video files in his oracle database, and i am particularly looking for those videos to be played in sharepoint site.

So,appreciate if any idea on playing videos stored in oracle.

Hi,

I have this link: http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/sharepointgeneral/thread/618f2a87-dc35-4741-9d9d-dea5bc2b7ab7

Its good... but he says to store the videos  in some doc(or Asset)library in sharepoint.

My client have huge video files so its difficult to move them in sharepoint library !

So i am planning to play the videos directly from oracle into sharepoint site without storing them locally on sharepoint server.

Is this possible ?

need your suggestion.

Thanks in advance.
