Hi

I installed a NAS Network Storage Dlink, on my network there windows and macs, from the windows everything is fine but from all the macs, I can connect to the drive but when i open the volume it takes too long to view the data, and after that some time we can use the data (read\write) but some times we cannot.

Thank you.

Hi,

Are you familiar with Cocoa Packet Analyzer?  This is good network analyzer that you can install on any Mac OS X.  The idea is to trace the network dialog between the Mac and your NAS when you establish a connection.  This is the fastest way to see what type of communication problem you have and point on a particular configuration issue on the NAS..

Make sure to enable Bonjour, and use it co connect on your NAS.  I had similar problems and it went away by using this protocol.
