Dell servers patch management w/ HP SIM?

Hey, everyone,

I have a main network with several HP servers which I manage with HP SIM (including patch management). I have an additional, smaller network, which has about 6 Dell servers - all relatively old (PowerEdge 2600 and 2950).

I am currently looking for a patch management solution for these servers. It seems I have figured out general health management of the servers (by compiling Dell MIBs into SIM) but I still don't know about patch/update management. Is there any way to configure HP SIM to deliver patches for Dell servers?

I previously tried to understand my way around Dell Management Console, but honestly, didn't make it.

Ideas?

TIA

I have Server Administrator installed on all servers, but I didn't see any option to perform any form of automated driver update, sadly.

I've seen the DVDs, but because I wanted to make sure the servers are up-to-date, I thought an on-line solution would be much better.

Do you have knowledge of Dell Management Console? I don't know it much; from what I've seen, you can easily install it to discover systems and few other things, but to do things like patch management, you have to use the Altiris software, which requires licensing and - well - cash, unlike HP's SIM. Is this correct?

You need to do offline microcode update at least once. Just like HP, most dell servers update some firmwares only in offline mode, notably hard drives behind a RAID controllers on other than 0th PCI BUS etc etc
