Windows 2003 Terminal Server licenses

Hi

How can i discover or find terminal server license server in the network? and how to check how many licenses are in used or remaining?

Also i wanted to know are these licenses are recorded against computer or user account in license server? as we recently replaced all computers in the company with thin clients so the MAC addresses has changed. If license server hold old MAC addresses then we may need to release licenses in used so that the list can be rebuild with the new MAC?

Please explain. thanks

One or more of your servers on your network are configured as TS Licence servers.  You should be able to see which one it is from your Terminal Server.

Go to either that server or any server that has TS Licensing module installed.  You can from there see what licences are in use.

As for releasing, they are given a timeframe for issue.  When the timeframe expires, they will automaticly be released.

See attached file for example. Example of TS License Screen

Where can i see timeframe expire time? is this changeable? what happens if expire time has now arrived yet and user getting licensing error because of license if already occupied, can i forcefully release then or not?

Also please see the attached screen shot from my server where it says 400 total and 2 available but also there are other licenses listed like 115,35, 15, 15 what are these why it did not just add these numbers in one line show the total of all?
