Hi

Is there any fix for this issue?
Actually this is the second time i get this error message
from an installation of Microsoft Office Professional 2007

This is the error message:
"Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2007 encountered an error during setup."

I do not receive more description of this error message, no number no nothing.
there is not an advice of anything on what to do or how to deal with this error.

I would like to mention that i already clean all temp files and make sure there
is not an earlier version of the Office program installed on this computer.

Thanks

Open the registry and go to Hkey_Classes_root\installer\products.  Look for the following key:
0000210911000000000000000F01FEC.  If it is there, click on it.  Verify that the product name on the right is MS Office Professional Plus 2007.  Once you have verified that this is the key for MS Office, delete the key.  Then reinstall Office.

nettek0300, do you think that:

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\Products\00002119F20000000000000000F01FEC
ProductName: Microsoft Office Home and Student 2007

is the key to be deleted?

Thanks

Give me a break buddy, I am at work and do not sit and stare at this site all day.  I do have committments to tend to at work, and just answer in free time.  I kept checking for about 15 mins to see if you answered back before logging out.  Please be patient while in the forums if you want people to help you.

Verify that you do not have the home and student installed in add/remove programs.  If you do not, then delete the home and student key and retry.  If the reinstall still does not work, delete all of the other Office keys listed above.  Do NOT delete the key for Microsoft application error reporting.

I want to thank you for your apology.  It is appreciated.  If you do not mind me asking, what did you do to correct the problem?  By providing your answer, other members could use it as a reference if they run into the same issue.  Thanks.

Oh hi nettek0300,
you know what, is weird, i wanted to give you the whole threat so you can see it,
but it is not in my Faq questions, i don't know where is it. anyway, the way i manage
to get arround that problem was with a Fix from a Microsoft page, actually i never thought
i was gonna be able to fix the problem by just running that Fix.exe but it did.

is a small tool available for Office 2003, 2007, and 2010, just run the executable file and thats it,
just a matter of time and after a while everything is over without restaring the computer you can
start installing Office again. but before that is recomended to pass CCleaner to do some registry
and other junk files cleaning.
