BusinessView Layer or SQL Views?

Hello experts -

If anybody has experience with using BOE BusinessViews over just using the SQL views, I would like to hear your thoughts on performance, ease of use, etc.  I am leaning toward an integrated approach, using BusinessViews for reports that require dynamic parameters and then just reporting off SQL views for reports that only require static lists or date parameters.  All our report writers have a SQL background so it seems to be more work than it's worth to build complicated Business Views.  All the reports will be accessed through Crystal Server with either the report viewer or InfoView.

Thank you for any insight!

Thank you for the posts - the first one was actually me but the second one did help.  I guess I am really searching for validation of my implementation plan which is to use Business Views only when necessary (for dynamic cascasing parameters) and then to continue to build reports directly off the SQL database.
