Windows Backup & Exchange 2010

I have Windows 2008 R2/Exchange 2010 running as a VM.  My backup vendor doesn't currently support Exchange 2010, so I tried using Windows Server Backup to backup my Exchange information store.  I was surprised to find that there is no option to select only the Exchange IS, as there was in previous versions of Windows Backup.  Does anyone know if its possible to backup just the IS?  I'm getting an 'insufficient disk space' error when I try to backup the entire server.

Check the comments at the end of the above article in my earlier post as well.
