Replace functionality of complex Data Transformation task encapsulated in Execute DTS 2000 Package task after package migration

Hello,
We are preparing to install SQL2008 side by side with our SQL2000. I ran the Analyzer wizard and it gave me some errors, mostly on our DTS Packages. I am concerned about the following Errors.

Replace functionality of complex Data Transformation task encapsulated in Execute DTS 2000 Package task after package migration

Replace functionality of Dynamic Properties task after package migration

Rewrite ActiveX script code that accesses the DTS object model after package migration

SQL Server 2000 Data Transformation Services is deprecated

My fear is I do the Side by Side and then move the Databases that I need moved over to SQL 2008 and import my DTS Packages we need to run on those Databases and they don't migrate over due to the above errors.

I think I am way over my head on this one.

Let's say for instance I do the Side by Side install and I JUST So happen to do something wrong where my SQL2000 isn't running. Could I uninstall SQL2008 and all will be fine?

Do not even attempt to migrate your DTS Packages they will not migrate.  Here are your options:
1.  Convert them to SSIS packages.
2.  Continue to execute them as DTS Packages.

Pick your poison.
How do I convert them to SSIS Packages and would they function the same after they were converted?

How do I continue to execute them as DTS Packages after the SQL 2008 Install?
