Hi,

I am designing an application and would like to include the option of producing a video screen capture of the terminal for about 1 hour.
I have searched for a tutorial but found alot of info about screen shots but but nothing for video.
Hopefully this functionality is build into .NET somewhere?
Can anyone let me know if they know how to implement this.
Thanks

Hi, Muralidharand

I saw this link earlier, it talks about bitmaps, i was specifically interested in recording video?

Or do people stitch the bitmaps together to create video? i understand how this works, i was just hoping .NET had a video recording functionality native.

Thanks

They do stick intervaled snapshots together but the applications usually do other things like compression to save disk space. I have written a very basic one before without compression and use the Windows AVI API to stick all the screen shots into an AVI so it runs as a video. This is probrably the worst approach but it does produce a screen capture but it's not fast thats for sure. Many applications are using DirectX features now because you can interface directly with the video card. You will have better results searching for Direct X captures which is how most are doing it these days.
