Need to stop excel from auto-updating links to files

I have network drive in the "cloud" and I have excel document that keeps changing its links from file:// to http:// when saved.  If I save it locally and copy out to the network drive the change stays.  Anyone know a way to not allow this to happen?

If there are external links in your file, you can go to Edit / Links and there you can determine that you don't want external links to be updated.
But as far as I can see, your problem is not the values being updated, but the source of the files having their names changed.
I had this problem before, and the only way I was able to fix it, was via code... forcing the correct addresses of the known files in the LinkSources list...

you could put some VBA, replacing http:// back with file://  . . . maybe  there's a better way too, but this is what I did...

An upgrade from 2003 to 2010 fixes this problem.  Had to go into the trust center and tell it to disable the update of links.

is equivalent to what you did on 2010... just saying...
anyway, I'm glad you've had your problem solved.
