The best docking stations I have found are the ones designed by the manufacturer for the laptop.

I am guessing it is an inspiron or a Vostro then?

What are you looking for out of the docking station just more USB ports or mroe of a true port replicator?

So you are wanting a real port replicator.  The only brand I really recommend is Belkin from experience but I don't think they have one off the top of my head that does it all.. someone else might have some ideas.

There is somethign like this but no video
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833998075&cm_re=port_replicator-_-33-998-075-_-Product

Or this with Video
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834992513&cm_re=port_replicator-_-34-992-513-_-Product

I would be less likely to go with the video as you may see issues form the usb translation.

maybe that has been my problem in the past. i have tried a few docking stations - and they all had video, and out of about 7, i was only happy with 2. that is why i made this question. i wanted to see if other people had better brands than what i was using, but maybe it's been video going through the usb.
