Unfortianaly I have a system that only produces email alerts and our main monitoring console is based on snmp traps.  I need to convert my mail alerts to snmp trap alerts.  I know in outlook we can crate rules and run a vb script.

What is your main monitoring console? Linux/unix?  You can use the same mechanism you use to send out the email, to generate a syslog, snmptrap event or all at the same time.

You could genereate an event log entry and have evntwin configured to generate the snmptrap when this event occurs.
