I have iMAil 11 installed and have the following service

Service that are running (Normally)
POP3
SMTP
Queue Manager Service
Calendar

Services that are not running (Normally)
Logger
LDAP
IMAP4

I want to do mobile synchronization. I intend to get a smart phone that is capable of this tye ofoperation where you het you email via your smart phone, one that is is the vain of the iPhone but not necessarily that brand or model. Something like the samsung or motorola.
My questions are:

1: Do I need to turn on any on the services that are currently off
2: If IMAP4 or LADAP is necessary, do I need to install additional servers for their purposes
3: What is a decent model Smart Phone that I can look @ purchasing( Please exclude the iphone).

Thanks in advance

Most smart phones use IMAP access.  You may or may not need LDAP, depending on whether you want the clients to be able to lookup e-mail addresses by entering the person's name.  An additional server should not be required.

As for a smart phone recommendation, I'll defer to others.  Taking that path can lead to much arguing.
