Hello,

We have one user who insists on using the Apple Mail client to connect with our Exchange 2003 server using IMAP.  The problem we are running into is that she is unable to send to certain email addresses/domains.  Comcast, AOL, and lesser domains.  We can send to them fine from within our company using her account on MS Outlook.

She connects from outside using imap.  Any thoughts/suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you in advance!

Check her mail settings to make sure she is sending back through your server. If she is sending direct or through her own ISP, the mail could be blocked because her system is not authorized to send on behalf of your domain.

If that's not it, please post the notice she is getting. That will help us troubleshoot.

Hi,

I figured out the issue. IMAP is mapped to a different IP, and when she sends mail it is going out the IMAP IP.  The domains in question are using a reverse lookup and it fails.

Thank you for your response.

Although this was exactly right, it got me looking in the right direction.  Thank you.
