By selecting the drop-down next to the Connected status in Outlook, I was able to place a checkmark next to Download Headers rather than to Download Full Items.

He connects with a VPN connection and in order to speed things up in Outlook, I would like to set Outlook to Download Headers Only.<br />

When I go to Tools / Send Receive / Send/Receive Settings / Define Send/Receive Groups / Edit<br />
and highlight the group (the only one there), the Download Headers Only button is not available for selection. &nbsp;<br />
