Export from MS Word to MS Excel footnotes and the words they reference
I have a user who created a large Word document that contains lots of footnotes. He wants the footnotes and the words that reference the footnotes extracted from the document and put into an Excel table. Anyone have any idea on how that can be done? I have a very good programmer here so if it needs a programmer that could work for us. If it can be done within Word and Excel I could do that myself. Many thanks for any help!!!

I was the requester of the question but could not give enough details to get this answered so we bypassed to a manual solution.
you may use word addin like note stripper (Editorium), or any macro that move the footnote to the text area, then simply copy and paste into excel. each paragraph would be pasted in a cell.
I hope this is what you are looking for.
