Multiple email accounts in outlook 2007

Hi Everyone, I have a client who has one exchange and two POP3 accounts configured in his outlook 2007. He claims that he use to be able to highlight exchange mailbox , click on new email and the from account use to be from exchange accound and when he highlighted the POP3 mailbox, clicked on a new email from email account  would switch to the pop3 email account. It does not happen any more . I have looked everywhere but I can't find anything. Please help.

The way I do it is I click on new mail then click on From and choose the account that I want to show as the sender.

Thank you for a quick response. I can do that as well. But my client claims that it use to be automatic. If he selected Exchange mailbox the "from account' will automatically be selected to exchange account. So you think he is dreaming ? lol. i tried and I can not do it as well.

I run 5 different accounts (4 POP) and I have never had it automatically pick based on highlighting a folder.
Where is he claiming he highlighted the folder? does he have a seperate PST for each?

yes. He has a ost for his exchange account and seperate pst for his pop3 account.

Hi, FYI! I just setup a pop3 gmail account and also yahoo account. I am able to switch the from email account automatically. All I do is I highlight the inbox for gmail and the from account switches to gmail. The only difference is that I am using outlook 2010. I will have to look in to it deeper. I will keep you posted. Thank you.

I cannot test with multiple PST files.
I have my POP accounts deliver the mail to folders for each account into my exchange account. This allows for email backup to the exchange server and easy mail backup from exchange to external HD on the server.
