windows authentication

I have 2 folders within the same website root, i want to make folder A require windows basic authentication, and folder B not require it, but i want folder B to be able to forward a request to folder A without needing to authenticate

is this possible and how would i set it up.

Look into using multiple location tags in your web.config file.  The following page describes the usage of the location tag:

thank you, i rearnged my files so that the file i want open access to was in a folder of its own, this way i could turn off basic authentication on that folder only in this way it didnt need to access the folder that had auth on it at all...but the user still had to log in to the main folder to access information... made things simple
