Office Communicator 2007 R2 Won't Start

It seems that recently 2 Windows XP Pro computers in my network have had Office Communicator 2007 R2 break.  When you click on the Communicator start menu shortcut, you never see communicator open or show up in the task tray.  When you look at task manager during this,  communicator.exe shows up for about 1 second then disappears.  I've uninstalled and reinstalled.  Checked the COM+ and RPC Services.  Disabled antivirus and security software.  Other XP computers are working properly.  Any ideas?

Thanks,
Ryan

If you have not already tried the hotfix from microsoft,

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&FamilyID=515d6dba-4c6a-48bb-a06a-d99c5742676d

Download and install it as it has fixed many issues.

Okay, tried the update.  Didn't seem to fix the issue.  I also was also informed today that another Windows XP Pro client running Communicator stopped opening today as well.  So now we have 3 clients that stopped working.  Not sure what the common link is here?  I looked at the OCS server and everything is running.  The SSL certs look good.  Microsoft deployed some SSL cert changes via Windows Update recently.  Could this cause an issue like this?

Thanks for your help in advance.
Check the event viewer to see if any errors are posted there. There are a number of people having the same issue as yours and all seem to have errors that reference the problem area.
Not seeing anything in the event logs.  I did enable tracing via the registry, but I was unable to open the ETL file it created.  Maybe if I copy it to a Vista or Win 7 client, I will be able to open it.
There is a reference to using Tracedmp.exe from the
Windows 2K resource kit that creates CSV files from ETL.
Search Tracedmp.zip in http://www.filesearching.com,
download it and give it a try! :-)

Okay,  opened the ETL file with Vista Event Viewer and did not see anything useful that would point me to the cause issue.
Hi ,
Stat windows update and install comunicator latest updated .

in the Run >msconfig> hide all Microsoft Services check box , then select disable all and restart then retart the machine and try again,
