deleting other's items in calendar

We use: sharepoint services 3.0. On an intranet the have an calendar where they can post meetings and things like that. More than one user can place items in calendar. But they can also delete each other's items. Can I stop this without stopping them from inserting calendar items?

The list has a setting to only allow editing of their items.  This will stop them from being able to delete it.
Go to the list settings >> Advanced Settings >> Create and Edit access and select "Create items and edit items that were created by the user".  This will stop others from deleting items.
