I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

You need 28xx, 28xx, or UC5xx router!
If you buy ISR router you need voice bundle with callmanager expresss!

You can use gns3 however i dont think its that good with voice.
If you want an entry voice router, the 1751 would work with that phone.
If you want ISR then Ikalmar has your answer.

Big Business Goals? Which KPIs Will Help You

The most successful MSPs rely on metrics – known as key performance indicators (KPIs) – for making informed decisions that help their businesses thrive, rather than just survive. This eBook provides an overview of the most important KPIs used by top MSPs.

You need valid cisco account on CCO with support, and you able to download the images!
You cannot download a Unified Communications Manager bootable install disc from Cisco.com. You can only download the upgrade images which are not bootable.
If you can get your hands on a bootable disk, it comes with a demo license that is limited to 4-5 phones and all the features and does not expire, but it will only install on very specific hardware or very specific virtual machine template in VMware.
Your best bet is to start with Callmanager Express as you will need to be proficient in the Cisco Dial-Peers and IOS voice even with Callmanager as it uses routers as Gateways. Remember You need to crawl before you can walk! Once you are ready for Callmanager I suggest buying an older one off ebay and learning it or doing a course in it.

I picked up a Cisco 1760V router for $120 back in September so it's the way to go.

Callmanager EXPRESS  is downloadable, if you buy SMARTNET or SHARED support with license to your ROUTER!
