email server settings for office share point
We have installed office share point 2007 32 bit on 2003 server. I have 2 issues to be fixed one is AD integration and second email alerts. I am using google apps for my company email. I want to integrate Active directory single sign on for sharepoint.My active directory domain is mycompany.local but my email domain is mycompany.com How can I integrate gmail server for outgoing and incoming emails on share point. I have already installed smtp virtual server in IIS.

hi sabby447 thanks for your reply I have already configured SMTP virtual server to forward mails to smarthost smtp.google.com , using google apps user authentication and TLS conncetion but not receiving any mail.
enable logging and check badmail folder to ensure there is no issues there

I gave up the idea using office share point server for task management and share excel files. Our software team is developing a .net program for this purpos
You can check with google apps support to get smtp config and create a new user for managing sharepoint environment
