Dell Dimension

The above pc was gifted to me and it has windows 7, but I do  not see any firewire outlets.  If this is the standard configuration, how do I insert a firewire outlet.  Can I :
1) use a usb adapter to make the present usb outlet to a firewire OR
2) shoud I insert a firewire card.
Whatever suggestions are made, could u please suggest the make and model that would work with the above pc, having in mind the budget but not sacrificing the functionality or loss of it.   I am intending to connect a webcam to the firewire.
Thank u.

There are various models of the DFell Dimension (1100, 3000, 4200, etc) so it would be hard to tell you unless we had that.  Additionally, are there any PCI slots available?  If so, you could use this:

It would probably be the easiest way to install firewire ports on the machine.

I would suggest an internal card.  There are a number of them on the market.

Here is a link to one that I would recommend.

in response to Nobus, I had thought of this suggestion, BUT the webcam has already been wired, installed  and positioned, I think there are no volunteers to go that route to reinstall.  Thus, the need to install the firewire. Thank u
