Home Theatre for apple TV and Amazon

I would like the best solution for viewing movies on a large home theatre projector. We have been using apple TV but the content is too limited and so would like to watch Amazon movies aswell.

Would the best solution for watching both these movie distribution systems from a single device be a home theatre PC? If so, can anyone offer suggestions on how effective and intuitive such systems are, what is the best operating system etc.

Your question needs a little defining
If the content from Apple is too limited and you would like to watch Amazon movies as well.
Unfortunately Apple limits what you can stream based on whether or not your content is accessible via their proprietary programs.
So are you asking for some better sources online?
Or a better system?
If you want to support your local video.

I guess I wanted to know if there was a single hardware system that could play apple tv content and Amzaon's. It appears that this is not possible.
