Blackberry Calendar Sync problem between Bold 9700 and Outlook 2007

I have BIS. All syncing works fine between my DM version 6.0.1.18 and my Blackberry Bold 9700, EXCEPT that I cannot sync entries from my calendar to Outlook 2007... The other direction works. BB software is version 5.0.0.593.

I have tried renaming/deleting Intellisync folder; the configuration on the DM is set to TWO-WAY. I have also reset the configuration on the DM. Every time I want to sync a new calendar entry from my Device to Outlook, the message box says that it's reading the device entries and then processing them - no problem. Then it starts reading my Outlook entries, no problem. Then it processes Device entries again and highlights entries that need conflict resolution. After inputing required conflict treatment, I get the Confirm Calendar Edits window. So far great. I press Accept, and then get the Processing Device Calendar again...after it gets to the end, a new window appears and when it gets to record X I get the dreaded popup message "Operation terminated unexpectedly" error. If I delete the offending entry on my BB Device, the error disappears. However, until this problem is solved, I effectively only have one way calendar syncing: From Outlook to Device.

Can somebody please help??

Thanks.

This sounds like a corrupt entry in the BB calendar. Do you have anything on the BB calendar that you absolutely have to keep? If you can put up with it being wiped then use the DM, go to Backup and Restore, click Advanced, highlight Calendar and click Clear. This will selectively wipe the handset Calendar and allow you to start the synch process with Outlook from scratch.

I don't think it is a corrupt entry, because if I clear all entries, it syncs fine, but as soon as I add a single new entry on the BB device, the sync to Outlook fails. I think it is a settings/service Book/Calendar problem.
If it's the service book, go into Options > Advanced Options > Service Books and look for the CICAL entry. Delete it and then resend service books from your provider.

I would recommend clearing the Calendar database on the handheld through DM, though, just as a belt-and-braces approach.

I cleared the calendar on the handheld through the DM. Then I resynced and no problem because the info went from Outlook to the Device... But as soon as I enter a new item on the Handheld and resync, it crashes with the same error again because it doesn't sync from Device to Outlook. :(
Hi flittda,

Ok, try this:

Make sure Desktop Manager is not running
Go to C:\Documents and Settings\<user_name>\Application Data\ and delete or rename the Research in Motion folder.
Now start Desktop Manager and go through the steps of configuring Synchronization and try to Synch again.

Let me know how you get on.

Hi Mikethe Relic... I did exactly what you said... and I'm afraid the same error comes up again when the Calendar tries to transfer any entries to MS Outlook. :(

My solution was the only one that solved the problem.
