Blackberry AV/IS Protection

Hello,

I've just recently purchased a Blackberry Curve (my first smartphone) and I'm wondering which anti-virus/internet security is the best option out there.  I am leaning towards Kaspersky, since I already use that as my first option for PC's.

Thanks.

Hi,

I don't believe there are actually any viruses out there for BlackBerry as such so whilst it might be reassuring to have something, there is currently nothing to find. There have been some applications written for use to try and attack a BES server, but no viruses that I am aware of.

However, that might change, especially as your is a consumer device without the layered anti-virus and anti-malware systems that an enterprise would be running before anything got to the device when using BES, for example.

hmmm. Very interesting, thanks for the reply.
There seems to be so many Blackberry systems out there however, is this a scam, or are there truly some threatening vulnerabilities out there?
Remember:  Blackberry is inherently 'online'.  So wouldn't it need some kind of firewall/Internet Security system to deter from message interception/identity theft, etc?
