2008r2 w Hyper-V shuts down and restarts Intel Board 5520HTC and 5620 processor
HELP!!
We have a custom built 2008r2 with 24gb ram, 1 5620 processor on a 5520HTC board with Hyper-V. We have frequent reboots (up to 10 a day) I've seen issues with hyper-v and the 5500 series processors, but doesn't look like it applies here. This does have Speedstep enabled and the power management was balanced. I do hear 3 beeps when the server boots, but everything seems fine.
I've been reading KB's etc on similar problems but no real solution. I do notice it happens overnight alot when the server is basically idle. Should I change the balanced power settings?? Is their a permanent fix to this? I see a hyper-v fix for westmere, but it says it doesn't apply here.
THOUGHTS?

Hmmm, I would start by applying SP1. I would also check to see if there is an updated BIOS.

The only thing i came up with, updates all the drivers and applied the power settings, so far no crashes. Not sure exactly what the problem was, but I see a stop error for hyper-v for westmere processors, but it doesn't allow me to install.
