"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

you cannot know from the unix to find the file which contains the creation script for a given object.
though you could use "find" to search for the text string, still it's not sure you will get the correct file, as
1) the object could be used in other (depending) scripts
2) there could be different versions (for different upgrade scenarios) of the same object.

best is you check the documentation about which file should be run to create a given object

I agree with everything above.  You should not run scripts just because you 'think' it is the correct one.

Are you looking for a specific object?  We might be able to provide the correct script.
