Although I did what byfour described, I did not come up with a solution. So I tried a different software which works fine.

In a new HP laptop running win7, tried to install Windows Live Mail (WLM).<br />
Download and installation completed successfully, but unfortunately WLM never worked.<br />
While opening the application, screen becomes grey and the message &quot;Application has stopped working&quot; appears on screen.<br />

I tried to recover the application using &quot;wlarp.exe &quot;&nbsp;but with no success, and so I decided to uninstall/reinstall it. No success<br />

I am running out of ideas.<br />

Windows Live Mail has stopped working

Windows 7 is an operating system from Microsoft. Features include multi-touch support, a redesigned Windows Shell with a new taskbar, referred to as the Superbar, a home networking system called HomeGroup, and performance improvements.

In Windows Vista, Outlook Express was superseded by Windows Mail, then again by Windows Live Mail as separate software. Outlook Express is a different application from Microsoft Outlook. Beginning with Windows Vista Microsoft included Windows Mail, based on large parts of Outlook Express source code.
