Exchange 2003 transition to 2010 public folder replication

We are in the process of transitioning from exchange 2003 to 2010.  All appears fine appart from 2 apsects
1. the routing connector is not sending mail to the new server
2. Public folders are not working.

The priority is the public folders. I have checked on the Exchange 2003 server and the new server is listed in the public store (no storage group detailed).
The public store is mounted on the Exchange 2010 server all appears ok but neither outlook nor OWA clients have any foleders listed under public folders.

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

public folder replication will not work until you get your routing group connector fixed
check the default smtp virtual server settings on the 2003 server
check for a smart host entry which would prevent the routing group connector from sending to 2010
