Home folder redirection

we have 10.6 OD bound to 2008 AD.

We use 'force local home directory on start up disk" - this resolved several problems network users were having with Logic and other programs.
The only trouble is when saving from applications the default location is the local home directory, which is a real pain.
Is there a way to redirect this folder like you would do in a windows group policy to their ad network share. They already have the AD network share in the doc.
Or when they click on save, is it possible to include a link to their AD home directory in the window list and remove localhome and local documents?

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.
