I'm not informatica expert but I work with it for Cognos.
Few things to consider before buying.
Why are you getting Informatica when you have datamanager (both can do ETL)?
Both are etl tools and if datamanager is sufficient for your current setup, no need to buy informatica.
However, informatica has more features than datamanager and if you want more ETL development that datamanager cannot handle, research on what informatica has over datamanager before purchasing.
Informatica can replace datamanager but there is a learning curve and different interface.
Also, you are paying for datamanager currently so it's best to use it if possible.

To evaluate informatica, wait for responses from informatica experts.

Hi,

You're talking about 2 entirely different concept,Informatica is an ETL tool, Cognos is BI ,In Informatica You're moving /transforming (Extraction & Transformation Language) data ,in BI You're representing these data in some form for Your biz. users
