I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Sounds like a bad prifile object in Application Data. As an administrator make a backup of the user's profile and simply change the name in c:\Documents and Settings\%userprofile% (makesure the folders name is changed by at least one Char) and have them login (to recreate their profile) if it works then log back in as admin and simply migrate their docs over to the new profile, they will be back up and running in no time.

Ohhh sorry Win7 that trick doesn't work anymore.
Goto: C:\Users\pnorman\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Office\
Look for the word files, again back them up somewhere and then delete them.

If that doesn't work you will need to make a backup of the prof under c:\users (I would just zip it), delete the users from user management in control panel, and recreate it.

Of course by C:\Users\pnorman\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Office i meant C:\Users\USERPROFILE\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Office

Not sure if you caught my last two posts, that is because Win7 doesn't allow us to use the first trick anymore, look at my last two posts it should work for you.
Restore the profile folder with the same name using the admin account and reboot to him him back to normal in terms of the win logon.
