Create a brand new Joomla installation and migrate your wordpress content to it. Then using a mysql dump of your existing Joomla site populate the new installation. As JConvertor imports all Wordpress articles into a single Joomla category you should not have to make any changes to your mysql dump (hopefully). Then take a mysql dump of the new site and drop all the tables on your existing database (remember you have already a full sql copy) and run the sql dump here. All should be in order.

This migration script is free (read the user comments, some rate it good). It worked perfectly for me.

Hi fearialtog,
Thanks a lot for that component.
I did it and I'm getting following message.

You can safely ignore "Failed! - Duplicate Key!" errors. Please verify first that the contents you imported are present in your Joomla site or not.

Hi rashgang,

Hi fearialtog,
I want to import current wordpress data to joomla.
But Jconverter extension is advising to start with fresh joomla, which I can't do. My current joomla is having plenty of data.

I've installed/Configured JConverter.
But it gives errors when I try to "Start Conversion!" .
For Joomla 1.6.x
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Strict Standards: Declaration of JConverterController::display() should be compatible with that of JController::display() in C:\xampp\htdocs\joomla\administrator\components\com_jconverter\controller.php on line 5
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

For Joomla 1.5x
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You can safely ignore "Failed! - Duplicate Key!" errors. Please verify first that the contents you imported are present in your Joomla site or not.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is basically I got stucked with giving me none and wasting my time.
I tried different versions of joomla , but none of got worked yet.
Can u share your experience with the exact version which u got working with this JConverter.

Stick with Joomla 1.5 at the moment you can upgrade later.
The error message is telling you to ignore the errors and see if the data has been imported. The data should be in the tables have a look and see if it is there and then move on to the next step.
