ISA Server 2006 VPN Client Internet Access

I am new to ISA Server.

Can someone provide a technical explaination for the reason that VPN Clients conncted to the ISA Server VPN do not require a Proxy Server configured in their browsers to access the Internet?

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

IT depends on how VPN connection configured.

If you  check " use default gateway on remote network". then it will use the default gateway that assigned from DHCP server on remote server ( or static one). depends on VPN server config.

if not, it will use the default gateway on the client side ( client internet connection).

both cases do not need proxy settings.

I will post information about the rules on Monday as the clients network is down for the weekend for maintenance.

I have created 2 rules only. One that allows VPN Clients access to the internal network and the other allows VPN Clients access to the External Network to be able to browse the internet.
